Andrew McNiven

  • Title
    Volunteer Asst. Coach
Andrew McNiven joins the Cornell coaching staff after playing four seasons as an undergraduate for the Big Red.

"Andrew brings a new perspective to the staff, having just wrapped up his collegiate career," Schafer said. "And, he is well-respected by all of the players."

A 2001 graduate of Cornell's College of Engineering, McNiven was a four-year letter winner at forward. He was a tri-captain his senior year and finished his collegiate career with 31 points on 12 goals and 19 assists. He was the recipient of the team's Crimson Cup Award as a freshman and received the team's Wendell Earle Memorial Award for excellence in both hockey and academics. He was twice named to the ECAC's academic all-star team and was a member of Cornell's Red Key Athletic Honorary Society.

Andrew played junior hockey with the Surrey Eagles, which were Canadian National Jr. A finalists.

Following graduation, Andrew played professional hockey in England before injuries forced an early departure.
