McHugh spent the 2015-16 season as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Big Red, helping the team to a 16-11-7 record and a trip into the quarterfinals of the ECAC Hockey Championships.
McHugh came to Cornell after completing three seasons as the video coordinator for the St. Lawrence men’s hockey team, where he was responsible for scouting opponents, game video analysis and post-game video breakdown, met with potential recruits and coordinated team activities. He also helped create the Skating Saints Kids Club for youth hockey fans of St. Lawrence, and he served as co-director of the school’s hockey camp in Summer 2013. McHugh played a significant role in the Hobey Baker Award campaigns for both Kyle Flanagan and Greg Carey in 2012-13, providing video clips for the selection process and top ten videos.

A native of Saranac Lake, N.Y., McHugh received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Campbell in 2011. He also served as a team leader for the 2014 USA Hockey Player Development Boys Select 17 Camp in Amherst, N.Y.
