Cam Clarke Norwich Headshot

Cam Clarke

Cam Clarke is entering his second season as an assistant coach with the Big Red after joining the program in July 2025.

Responsible for overseeing Cornell's power play, Clarke guided the Big Red to a 23.8 percent conversion rate (24-for-101) in his first season, leading all ECAC Hockey programs and ranking 13th nationally.

Clarke arrived at Cornell after a two-year tenure as an assistant coach for the men's hockey program at Division III Norwich, where he also served as the Cadets' head men's golf coach. Working under head coach Cam Ellsworth, Clarke helped Norwich compile a 29-18-7 (.602) overall record and a 23-10-5 (.671) mark in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) play, with consecutive NEHC Tournament appearances. The Cadets reached the championship game in 2025 before falling to Hobart, the eventual Division III national champion. Clarke also oversaw Norwich's power play, which converted 25.4 percent of its opportunities in 2024-25 (17-for-67), ranking 14th among 85 Division III programs.

Prior to joining Norwich's staff, Clarke played professionally for three seasons with the ECHL's Wichita Thunder and Toledo Walleye, tallying 67 points (12-55—67) in 144 career regular-season games — 133 of which came with Wichita before he concluded his career with Toledo.

A four-year player at Ferris State under legendary head coach Bob Daniels, Clarke scored 33 points (3-30—33) in 126 career games with the Bulldogs. He was selected by the Boston Bruins in the fifth round (136th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft following a standout season with the NAHL's Lone Star Brahmas, where he posted 50 points (9-41—50) in 59 regular-season games. Clarke was named the NAHL Defenseman of the Year, earned First Team All-Star honors, and was selected to the NAHL South All-Star Team after leading all NAHL defensemen in both assists and points that season.

Clarke earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Ferris State in 2020 and a master's degree in organizational leadership from Norwich in 2025.

Originally from Tecumseh, Mich., Clarke and his wife, Claire, have two children, Scottie and Brady, and a dog, Banks.
