Scott Garrow

Scott Garrow returned to Cornell in June 2003 as an assistant coach to begin his second stint with the Big Red. He had been an assistant under head coach Mike Schafer from 1995-99 before spending four seasons as an assistant at Western Michigan.

"Scott has done a tremendous job for us," Schafer said. "He has been instrumental in recruiting some of our best classes, including the seniors from the Frozen Four team."

While an assistant at Western, Garrow was the team's recruiting coordinator and was instrumental in landing 2002 CCHA Rookie of the Year Pat Dwyer. That same year, the freshman class averaged 18.7 points per player--the highest total in the CCHA.

A Goderich, Ont., native, Garrow worked with the Broncos' forwards and goaltenders and was responsible for breaking down game tape and scouting video. In the past, Garrow has helped USA Hockey evaluate talent at the Michigan Select 16 and 17 Festivals. He also coordinated line changes for defensemen during games.

During his prior tenure at Cornell, Garrow worked with the forwards and goaltenders, spent time with the power-play units, broke down video and shared in recruiting responsibilities. He helped the Big Red earn two NCAA tournament berths with consecutive ECACHL tournament titles in 1996 and 1997.

Garrow began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at WMU during the 1994-95 campaign.

A graduate of Western Michigan, Garrow was a four-year letter winner for the Broncos. As a player at WMU, he set a school record by playing in 161 consecutive games. During that span, Garrow compiled 41 goals and 61 assists for 102 points. He scored a career-high 15 goals in 1991-92 and at season's end, received the team's Catherine Lawson Sportsmanship Award. The centerman twice received honorable mention for the All-CCHA Academic Team (1991, 1992), graduating with a bachelor of science degree in history in 1992. He received a master's degree in sports studies from WMU in 2000.

Scott and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Dryden with their son, Cole.
