All-Ivy League First Team (2019)

As a junior (2019-20)

• Made one appearance in relief, playing the final 17:07 of a Jan. 31 game at Quinnipiac in which he stopped all five shots he faced.

As a sophomore (2018-19)

• Made nine starts among his 13 appearances, posting a 5-3-1 record, 2.12 goals against average and .919 save percentage.
• Selected to All-Ivy League first team after recording a 1.94 goals against average and .925 save percentage in Ancient Eight play.
• Earned first collegiate victory by making 20 saves in a 3-1 victory on Dec. 7 at Harvard.
• Final two starts came in NCAA regionals, where he made 20 saves to backstop the team to a 5-1 win over Northeastern in the regional semifinal.

As a freshman (2017-18)

• Did not appear in any regular-season games, though made two saves over nearly 12 minutes of action to cap off the Big Red's 7-1 exhibition win over Guelph on Oct. 14.

Prior to Cornell

• In only full season in Junior A, was the primary goaltender for Alberta Junior Hockey League's Lloydminster Bobcats during 2016-17 season.
• Finalist for league’s Rookie of the Year honor with a 3.53 goals against average and .905 save percentage for a team that finished in last place in its division.
• Selected in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft, though spent next three years on the Bobcats’ Midget AAA team.
• Broke through in the 2015-16 season and named league’s Top Goaltender, backstopping team to league and regional championship.
• 0.44 GAA and .980 save percentage in the postseason earned him playoff MVP honors.

Personal

• Austin Edward Gerald McGrath is the son of Kim and Lana McGrath, and he has an older brother.
• Enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
