Biography
As a junior (2018)
• Saw action in three games.
• Played against Binghamton, Air Force, and Dartmouth.
• Picked up one ground ball vs. the Big Green.
As a sophomore (2017)
• Saw action in four games as a sophomore, playing against Penn State, Colgate, Dartmouth and Syracuse.
As a freshman (2016)
• After suffering a preseason injury, Teixeira played the final 10 games of the season, making six starts on the attack unit.
• Finished the year with five goals and four assists.
• Picked up eight ground balls and caused one turnover.
• Named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on April 4 after earning his first career start and registering three goals and two assists vs. Dartmouth, all of which came during a 10-0 run that blew open a 2-2 game en route to a 19-4 victory.
Prior To Cornell
• A 2014 US Lacrosse All-American.
• Four-year varsity letter winner, earning two letters from Creekside high school, before finishing his playing career at The Bolles School.
• Was a two-time team captain and helped Bolles School to consecutive Florida District 5 championships.
• A two-time first-team all-district selection.
• Named to the Florida Lacrosse News Senior All-Star Team in 2015.
• Team MVP as a senior.
• Earned Offensive MVP in each of his final two seasons.
• Was also the school’s 2014-2015 Van Etten Bent Award winner, given annually to outstanding individuals who have distinguished themselves in a particular sport in the varsity athletic program.
• Helped Creekside high school to a pair of Florida District 6 finalist finishes.
• Lettered once in soccer and played one year of football.
Personal
• Anthony Paul Teixeira is the son of Mark and Michelle Teixeira and he has one older brother and one younger sister.
• Great-uncle Stephen W. Fillo graduated from Cornell in 1959.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
