Biography
Career:
Clayton saw action in all but one game during his four-year career with the Big Red and scored some of Cornell’s biggest goals in the process. Following graduation he was selected by the Rochester Rattlers in the third round of the Major League Lacrosse draft, going with the 23rd overall pick.

At Cornell:
Clayton saw action in 15 games during his senior season, earning two starts. He garnered second-team All-Ivy honors and finished the year with 19 goals and 10 assists, both of which were career-highs. Clayton registered a career-high five goals vs. Hobart, single-handedly defeating the Statesmen as Cornell won 17-4. He scored three goals vs. Duke in final four of the 2007 NCAA tournament, including a dramatic game-tying goal with 17 seconds to play. As a junior, Clayton had a solid season for the Big Red, seeing action in all 14 games. During the year, he scored six goals and added three assists for nine points. He registered a season-high three points vs. Lehigh with one goal and two assists. Clayton played in all 14 games as a sophomore and registered nine goals and seven assists, with his most important goal coming as a game-winner vs. Towson with 11 seconds to play in the first round of the 2005 NCAA tournament. Clayton also came through in other important games, registering two goals at Army and three assists at Syracuse. An impact player as a freshman, Clayton became a mainstay on the first midfield line and tallied five points as a rookie. He also came through with one of the top highlights of the 2004 season with an overtime game-winning goal at Harvard.

At Suffern:
Clayton was the captain of the lacrosse team his senior year at Suffern HS and earned all-league, all-county, all-section, and All-America honors. He helped the team win the 2003 Power League championship and was also the captain of the Hudson Valley Empire State team. Clayton also competed in indoor track team for two years, running in the 200- 400-, and 600-meter events.

Personal:
Brian Eric Clayton is the son of Edward and Judy Clayton and is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. His twin brother, Andrew, played on the team in 2004 and is currently a senior at Cornell.
