Eric Genova

  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach

Eric Genova enters his second season as a volunteer assistant on Coach Tambroni's staff. A native of Denver, Colo., Genova is involved in all aspects of the program, including developing and implementing practice and game day strategy.

In just his first season on the sidelines, Genova helped Cornell to one of the greatest campaigns in recent years as the Big Red capped an undefeated regular season (13-0) with the program's first trip to the national semifinals since 1988. The team finished the year with a 15-1 record, one victory shy of the school record (16 in 1976) and eighth all-time in NCAA history for wins in a season. The Big Red finished its Ivy League schedule with a perfect 6-0 record, winning its second outright league title in the past four years and garnering at least a share of the conference crown for the fifth straight year.

Prior to coming to the East Hill, Genova served for three seasons as the head lacrosse coach at Smoky Hill High School, where he was nominated for Head Coach of the Year in 2005, and was the recipient of the Ken Ratna Sportsmanship Award in 2006. Genova was an assistant coach at Smoky Hill for one season and was nominated for Assistant Coach of the Year in 2003.

Genova graduated from the University of Denver in 2002 with a BSBA in finance and marketing.
