At Cornell

Cerrone joined the Cornell men’s lacrosse staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the fall of 2021.

Prior to Cornell

In addition to coaching in a volunteer capacity for the Big Red, Cerrone has served as Chaminade High School’s assistant coach since March of 2020, returning to coach the high school program of which he was once a part of. Among his duties with the Flyers includes acting as the offensive coordinator for the junior varsity boys lacrosse team.

Cerrone also coached multiple boys lacrosse teams in Australia while playing overseas in the Victoria State League in 2019 in a season that saw him go on to be named the league’s “Best and Fairest,” or its Most Valuable Player. He served as the head coach of the Camberwell U17 team, while coaching in an assistant role for the Southern Crosse U15 squad.

Playing Career

Cerrone played the first two years of his collegiate lacrosse career at Villanova in 2015 and 2016 before transferring to Duke for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He was a vital member of the 2018 Blue Devil squad that was the NCAA Division I Runner-up, captaining the team that season. 

Cerrone was a two-time Inside Lacrosse Preseason Honorable Mention All-American, earning the distinction ahead of his junior season with Duke in 2017 and in advance of his sophomore campaign at Villanova in 2016. He was a second team All-Big East performer for the Wildcats in 2015 and twice earned ACC All-Academic distinction while at Duke in 2017 and 2018.

Cerrone graduated from Duke in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences and policy.
