Biography
Tambroni on Nathan: "Danny is a selfless competitor. He made the move to short stick last season to help the team and he provided such a spark and versatility to our defense. He has also developed into one of our finest leaders, both on and off the field."
At Cornell: Nathan moved from close defense to a short stick defensive midfield position shortly after the start of the season and became one of the Big Red’s most consistent defenders, seeing action in all 16 games and making four starts. He picked up four ground balls on the season and registered his first career point with an assist vs. Duke on March 20. Nathan started in all 14 games as a sophomore. He picked up 12 ground balls on the season, including a career-high three ground balls vs. Lehigh and at Hobart. As a rookie, Nathan played in three games, seeing action vs. Penn, Princeton and Hobart.
At Highland Park: A four-time letter winner and a two-year captain in lacrosse at Highland Park HS, Nathan was an All-America selection during his senior year. He earned all-conference honors in 2004 and was also selected to participate in the U.S. Lacrosse National High School Senior Showcase. He was the first player from Highland Park to go on to play lacrosse at a Division I school. Nathan also earned two letters in football and was an all-Chicago special mention.
Personal: Daniel Walter Nathan is the son of Wally and Wendy Nathan and is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Arts and Sciences. He has an older brother and sister.
