DeLuca on West: Henry is a big, strong, and athletic midfielder from Connecticut powerhouse Darien High School. Whathas impressed us most about Henry is his versatility – he has the ability to take face-offs, defend, and be effective in the offensive end. He exemplifies the 'throwback midfielder' that our coaching staff so eagerly seeks in the recruiting process and we expect Henry to contribute early in his career.

At Darien
An Under Armour All-American, West lettered four times at Darien high school, helping the Blue Wave to back-to-back state championships in 2009 and 2010 and an FCIAC Championship in 2011. As a senior captain, he earned his second All-FCIAC selection. West was named all-state as a junior and was chosen to play in the Under Armour All-American Underclassman game that same season. Healso played football for two seasons.

Personal
Henry Peter West is the son of Tim and Margot West and he has one older brother, Andrew, who is a member of the Big Red men’s lacrosse team. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
