Second-Team All-Ivy (2017)
At Cornell
Senior (2017): The 41st player in Big Red men's lacrosse history to reach the 100-point plateau in a career, Edmonds was Cornell's most dangerous offensive threat in 2016 with a team-high 26 points on 14 goals and 12 assists. He registered at least one point in 10-of-13 games and posted multiple points in seven contests. A player with great poise and vision, two of his most important points on the season came in the Colgate and Lehigh contests when he assisted on both buzzer-beating game-winners. He was named second-team All-Ivy following his senior season.
Junior (2015): Edmonds moved back to midfield during his junior season, starting all 16 games as a member of the first offensive line. He finished the seasons with 30 goals on 21 goals and nine assists. Edmonds also picked up 23 ground balls and caused five turnovers. He finished with eight multi-point games, including a season-high five points vs. Hofstra (two goals, three assists) and vs. Princeton during the regular season (three goals, two assists). In addition to his three-goal day vs. the Tigers, Edmonds also posted hat tricks vs. Hobart and Dartmouth.
Sophomore (2014): Edmonds moved into a new role his sophomore season, playing on the Big Red’s attack unit. He saw action in 16 games and finished the year with 24 goals and nine assists for 33 points. He registered at least one point in all but two games during the season, and tallied six hat tricks. Of Edmond’s 33 points, more than half (18) came in six Ivy League contests, including a career-high five points (three goals, two assists) vs. Yale. He also picked up 29 ground balls and caused four turnovers on the year.
Freshman (2013): Edmonds had a stellar rookie season, playing in all 18 games on the Big Red’s second offensive midfield line. He finished the year with eight goals, two of which came in the NCAA tournament against Maryland and Ohio State, and handed out there assists. Edmonds also picked up eight ground balls and caused two turnovers.
At Ward Melville
An Under Armour All-American, Edmonds lettered four times at Ward Melville, serving as team captain twice. He was selected as a Suffolk County All-American in 2012 and was named an Inside Lacrosse Top 50 Young Gun Rising Junior in 2010. Edmonds earned all-county honors in 2011 and 2012 and was a three-time all-division selection. He also lettered three times in basketball and twice in golf. Edmonds earned all-league and all-conference accolades on the hardwood and helped Ward Melville to back-to-back league championships on the links.
Personal
John Parker Edmonds is the son of Stephen and Heidi Edmonds and he has one younger sister. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
