Biography

• Granted a fifth-year eligibility waiver through the Ivy League Office.

As a senior (2018)

• Started the first three games before suffering a season-ending injury.
• Finished the year with five ground balls and one caused turnover.

As a junior (2017)

• Saw action in all 13 games as the one of the team’s primary short stick defensive midfielders.
• Was also a valuable member of the team’s face-off unit, playing on the wing.
• Picked up 12 ground balls and caused three turnovers on the season.
• Scored six goals on the year, including a season-high three vs. Syracuse.
• Handed out three assists.

As a sophomore (2016)
• Played in all 13 games as a member of the Big Red second offensive midfield.
• Finished the year with seven goals, including two man-up, and three assists.
• Registered a season-high two goals against Syracuse and Brown.
• Picked up six ground balls and caused one turnover on the year.  

As a freshman (2015)
• Saw significant playing time during his rookie season as a member of the offensive midfield.
• Played in 14 games, including two starts on the first offensive midfield line.
• Registered three goals and one assist on the year to go along with five ground balls.
• Scored a season-high two goals vs. Yale.
 
At Salmon River HS
• A high school All-American at Salmon River high school.
• Led Section 10 in scoring with 33 goals and 39 assists as a senior captain.
• Awarded the 2014 Tewaaraton Scholarship, given to one male and one female high school player of Iroquois descent. A member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, he was the first winner from Akwesasne.
• Helped Salmon River to four consecutive Section 10 championships and led the team to a 17-1 finish in 2014.
• Named an All-Northern all-star and an Academic All-Northern selection.
• Played Junior B lacrosse for the Akwesasne Indians.
 
Personal
• Kason Tarbell is the son of Will Whelan and Tina Tarbell.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
