2026 | SOPHOMORE SEASON
Started all 34 appearances and served as team's primary catcher ... batted .268 (37-for-138) with four doubles, three home runs, and 12 RBI ... his 37 hits ended in a four-way tie for team lead with Kevin Hager, Jake Hower, and Caden Wildman ... went 5-for-6 against Fordham (March 8), becoming first Cornell player since 2019 with a five-hit game ... hit home runs at Richmond (Feb. 28) and at Binghamton (April 21) ... posted 188 putouts and 26 assists while committing just four errors (.982 fielding percentage) ... threw out 10 of 79 attempted base-stealers (12.7 percent).

2025 | FRESHMAN SEASON
Appeared in nine games and made four starts, all of which came at catcher … batted .313 with one double, two home runs, and five RBI … registered home runs in consecutive games against Harvard (April 19) and Binghamton (April 29) … two-run blast against Harvard was first collegiate home run, sparking string of eight unanswered Big Red runs … concluded season with hits in final four games and had an RBI in final three contests … four of first nine plate appearances came in pinch-hit situations against Duke (Feb. 22 and Feb. 23), Towson (March 15), and Brown (March 29).

PRIOR TO CORNELL
Earned four varsity letters in baseball at Jupiter HS, where program won four district titles ... nominated for 2023 Palm Beach Athlete of the Year ... named captain during senior year.

PERSONAL
Mason Samuel Barela is the son of Brian and Aubrey Barela, and has two younger sisters ... enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
