At Cornell
Career: A three-time All-Ivy honoree, Nia Marshall was named to the first-team in both her senior and sophomore campaigns. Cornell's all-time scoring leader with 1,685 career points she finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the Ivy League in scoring (third), rebounding (10th), steals (fourth), blocked shots (eighth), defensive rebounds (10th) and minutes played (ninth). Following the season, in addition to her All-Ivy honor, she was named second-team All-ECAC and was an Academic All-Ivy selection.
In her senior campaign, Marshall led Cornell is scoring for the third consecutive season with 15.3 points per game and scored 414 total points, becoming the first player in the history of the program to amass more than 400 points three times in her career. She registered double-digits in 24-of-27 games, scored 20 points six times on the season, and posted three double-doubles. During the year, she was named the Ivy League Player of the Week four times, becoming just the 27th Ivy all-time to take home at least four Player of the Week accolades in a single season. As a result of her four selections, Marshall also became just the eighth player in conference history and first-ever Big Red, male or female, to earn at least 10 Player of the Week honors in a career.
In addition to holding the school's scoring title Marshall graduates as Cornell's record holder in free throws made and games started, while ranking in the top five in Cornell history for career scoring average (second), field goals made (second), field goal percentage (seventh), rebounds (fifth), rebounding average (ninth), defensive rebounds (third), offensive rebounds (fifth), steals (second), blocked shots (fourth), games played (third), and minutes played (third). She also ranks 23rd in career assists, making her the only player in Cornell history to amass at least 1,300 points, 500 rebounds, 100 assists, 100 steals and 50 blocked shots in a career.

Junior (2015-16): Marshall was named second-team All-Ivy after coming just four points shy of setting the school record with 464 points on the season, becoming just the third player in Cornell women’s basketball history to reach 400 points in a season twice in a career. She led the conference in scoring average (16.6 ppg.) and was 12th overall in rebounding (5.8 rpg.). Marshall also finished in the top 10 of the Ivy League in field goal percentage (ninth - .455), steals (fourth – 1.9 spg.), blocked shots (eighth – 1.0 bpg.), and minutes played (10th – 32.0 mpg.).  With a dominating 31-point performance vs. Binghamton on Dec. 30, 2015, she became the 14th 1,000-point scorer in Cornell women’s basketball history, while also becoming the first Big Red women’s basketball player to register four 30-point games in a career. The 31 points came on a 15-of-16 performance from the floor, tying the school record for field goals made in a single game, and also finishing tied for 10th all-time in NCAA history for the highest single game shooting percentage (.938). She reached the 1,000-point plateau in her 68th career game, faster than any Cornell player other than Karen Walker ’91. Marshall scored in double-digits 23 times on the season, including seven 20+ performances and one 30+ performance. She led the Big Red in scoring 19 times, while leading the team in rebounding seven times on the year. Marshall was named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Feb. 8 to tie the Cornell women’s basketball record for Player of the Week honors in a career (6) and set the new Cornell standard for combined Player/Rookie of the Week honors in a career (11).

Sophomore (2014-15): Marshall was named first-team All-Ivy following an outstanding sophomore season, becoming the Big Red's first member of the top conference team since Jeomi Maduka took home first-team honors following the 2007-08 campaign. Additionally, Marshall was named a College Sports Madness first-team selection. One of the most dominant forwards in the league, Marshall ranked among the top 10 in the conference in points per game (third – 16.3), steals per game (third – 2.1), minutes played (fourth – 33.9), rebounds per game (fifth – 7.3), defensive rebounds (fifth – 5.4), field goal percentage (eighth –.451), free throw percentage (ninth –.691). She registered double-digit points in 22-of-28 contests, including three 30-point performances, becoming the first Big Red player to reach the 30-point plateau since Do Stevens in 2001. She is also the only player in Cornell women’s basketball history to score at least 30 points three times in a single season. Her 36 points vs. Vermont ranks third in Cornell history and 22nd in Ivy League history for points in a single-game. Included in that performance was Marshall’s first-career 3-pointer, which came with: 03 to play in overtime to force a second extra time session. She became just the 12th player in Cornell women's basketball history to register 400 points in a single season and fell just 13 points shy of setting a new school standard, finishing with 455 points to rank third behind Mary LaMacchia (467 in 1995-96) and Rhonda Anderson (462 in 1982-83). She also finished in the top 10 of Big Red single-season history for field goals made (third – 171), free throws made (fifth – 112), defensive rebounds (fifth – 150), steals (sixth – 58), minutes (seventh – 948), scoring average (eighth – 16.3) and rebounds (10th – 205). Marshall was named the Ivy League Player of the Week four times this season (Dec. 22, Dec. 29, Jan. 12, Feb. 15), and on three of those occasions (Dec. 22, Dec. 29, Jan. 12) she also named the College Sports Madness Ivy League Player of the Week. She led the team in scoring on 18 occasions and held the team-high in rebounding 13 times

Freshman (2013-14): Marshall had a breakout rookie campaign, starting all but one game and averaging 27.3 minutes per game. She ranked second on the team in points (12.6) and rebounds (5.6) per game, marks that also ranked 10th and 11th, respectively, in the Ivy League. She also ranked in the top 10 in the Ivy League in field goal percentage (fourth – .511), steals (fourth – 1.7 per game), blocks (1.2 per game), and defensive rebounds (10th – 4.0). Marshall became the first Cornell player to be named Ivy League Rookie of the Week five times since Jeomi Maduka (7) during the 2005-06 season and is the first Cornell freshman to ever be named Ivy League Player of the Week (Feb. 3). Marshall scored in double-digits 21 times during season and led the team in scoring nine times. She finished with double-digit rebounds three times and registered three double-doubles. Marshall scored a career-high 21 points at Howard and posted 17 points in back-to-back games vs. Columbia. In all, she scored in double-digits in 11-of-14 Ivy League games, including a 14-point performance on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting night at Dartmouth on Feb. 14. Marshall had an impressive collegiate debut with five blocks and five steals to go along with four points and two rebounds vs. Colgate. The five blocks against the Raiders was the third best performance in Cornell history and the most since 2007.
At Hathaway Brown School
Marshall was a four-year letter winner at Hathaway Brown School, helping the squad to three consecutive Division II state championships. She served as team captain during her senior year and went on to earn both all-district and All-Ohio honors that same season. Marshall also earned two varsity letters in golf, winning the state championship in 2011 after finishing as the fourth runner up in 2010.
Personal
Nia Pershell Marshall is the daughter of Austin and Marie Marshall. Her older sister, Shamira, played golf for the Kent State from 2009-12, earning three All-MAC accolades and helping the Golden Flashes to four consecutive MAC Championships. Marshall is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
