At Cornell: Despite being slowed by injuries as the start of his junior season, Gradinger saw action in 13 games and made 10 starts. He picked up 16 ground balls on the season, including a career-high five vs. Brown. Gradinger saw action in all 16 games during his sophomore season, making 12 starts. He picked up 22 ground balls, including a season-high three vs. Harvard and Albany. Gradinger saw substantial playing time during his rookie campaign, playing in 10 games. He picked up six ground balls on the season, including a season-high two vs. Yale and at Hobart.

At Deerfield Academy: Gradinger lettered once at Deerfield Academy where he earned first-team all-league honors and was named to the all-star team. He also lettered once in football. At Torrey Pines: A four-year starter, Gradinger led Torrey Pines HS to a state championship in 2003 and 2004. He was a three-time all-league and all-county selection and was named to the Top 205 All-Star team in both 2003 and 2004. Gradinger also lettered once in football.

Personal: Nicholas James Gradinger is the son of Leo and Melanie Gradinger and has two younger brothers. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
