At Cornell
Junior (2011): Austin saw action in 16 games, playing primarily on the Big Red’s second offensive midfield after starting the season at the attack. He finished the season with five goals and three assists for eight points on the year to go along with eight ground balls and two caused turnovers. Austin registered a season-high two goals as the Big Red upset No. 1 Syracuse.

Sophomore (2010): Austin saw a significant increase in playing time as a sophomore, playing in 14 games and making nine starts. He registered 13 goals on the season and chipped in three assists. Austin registered a career-high four goals against a pair of Ivy opponents, scoring four times against both Yale and Penn. He also assisted on Ryan Hurley’s game-winning overtime goal vs. Army on March 6.

Freshman (2009): Austin saw action in three games during his rookie season, playing against Binghamton, Canisius and Penn.

At Duxbury
A high school All-American, Austin earned three varsity letters at Duxbury high school, helping his team to a state championship in each of those seasons. After serving as team captain during his senior season, he was named his team’s MVP, as well as its Most Valuable Attackman. The Boston Globe 2008 Division I Massachusetts Player of the Year, Austin was a two-time Patriot League All-Star. He was also named to both the Boston Herald and the Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic teams. Austin also lettered twice in football and was named his team’s MVP as a senior. He was named a Patriot League All-Star at receiver and helped Duxbury win a state championship in 2006.   

Personal
Scott Merrill Austin is the son of Dennis and Barbara Austin and he has an older brother and an older sister. He is enrolled in the College Arts and Sciences.
