At Cornell
Senior (2014): Freshour was named honorable mention All-American and first-team All-Ivy during his senior season as the anchor of one of the top defenses in the Ivy League. He finished the season ranked seventh in the Ivy League and 47th in the nation with 1.31 caused turnovers per game, having forced at least one turnover in 13-of-15 games during the year. Over his career, Freshour played in all but three games during his time on East Hill.
Junior (2013): Freshour started all 18 games and helped Cornell to rank 15th in the nation in scoring defense. He picked up 40 ground balls on the season, including a season-high five against Siena. He also caused 19 turnovers, with a season-best three coming against the Saints. Freshour also registered the first points of his collegiate career with a pair of goals against Princeton on Apr. 27.
Sophomore (2012): Freshour moved into a starting role during his sophomore season and was an integral part of the 15th best defensive unit in the country. He finished the year with 25 ground balls, including a season-best five against Canisius, and picked up at least one ground ball in all 13 games. Freshour also caused 12 turnovers on the season, tallying two in a game against the Golden Griffins, Yale and Princeton.
Freshman (2011): Freshour had a solid rookie season, playing in 15 games as a member of the Big Red’s defensive unit. He finished the year with six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Freshour tallied a season-high two ground balls against Canisius.
At Smithtown East
An honorable mention All-American as a senior at Smithtown East high school, Freshour began playing varsity lacrosse in eighth-grade and earned five varsity letters. He served as team captain and was named his team’s MVP during his senior season. Freshour was the stalwart of the Smithtown East defense as the team won four straight Super 7 championships from 2007-10. He was a two-time all-county selection after being named all-division as a sophomore. Freshour also earned three varsity letters in football and was named team captain as a senior. He was a two-time team offensive MVP and was named all-county in 2008 and all-division in 2007.
Personal
Thomas John Freshour Jr. is the son of Thomas and Kim Freshour and he has one older sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
