Biography
As a senior (2020)
• Saw action in three contests in a shortened senior campaign due to COVID-19.
• Played against UAlbany, Towson, and Penn State.
• Collected a career-high five ground balls in the Big Red’s thrilling victory over the then-No. 2 Nittany Lions on March 8.
As a junior (2019)
• Played in 10 games as a junior, starting the first three games of the season on the Big Red defense.
• Picked up six ground balls on the season, including a season-high two vs. St. Bonaventure.
• Caused one turnover against Lehigh.
As a sophomore (2018)
• Saw action in two games, playing against Binghamton and Brown.
As a freshman (2017)
• Played in three games as a rookie, seeing action vs. Colgate, Dartmouth and Syracuse.
Prior to Cornell
• Lettered twice in lacrosse at St. Paul’s School.
• Served as team captain his senior season.
• Was a 2016 All-MIAA selection.
• Also chosen for the 2016 MSCLA Senior All Star game.
• Won the team’s Alphonse Kelz Memorial Cup, awarded to St. Paul's top midfielder, as well as the St. Paul’s Charles Pforr '51 Memorial Athletic Award.
• Lettered once in soccer and volleyball.

• Joseph Patrick Karey is the son of Alex and Laura Karey and he has two younger brothers.
• Father, Alex, played lacrosse at Loyola.
• Enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
