Freshman Season — 2016-17
Hill was 2-5 in doubles matches during the spring dual season, appearing with three different teammates. His victories came with Lev Kazakov against a duo from Colgate and with Pietro Rimondini against a Memphis tandem. ... Hill won his first five singles matches during fall tournaments to advance to the finals of his bracket at the Penn Invitational before suffering his lone loss. He was also 3-2 in doubles, winning both matches competing alongside Joe McAllister.

Prior to Cornell
Hill competed in three Georgia Independent School Association championships with The Westminster Schools, going undefeated in his senior season during the team's title run. He was two-time captain and was named the team's most valuable player three times. He was ranked 109th nationally among his recruiting class upon his arrival at Cornell.

Personal
Al Gatalyn Hill is the son of Al and Erin Hill, and he has one brother and one sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
