Biography

As a junior (2019-20)

Dual season
• Went 3-1 in singles, going 2-1 at No. 4 and 1-0 at No. 1.
• Tied for the team-high in doubles victories with six wins, going 6-4. Went 5-4 at No. 3 doubles and 1-0 at No. 2.


As a sophomore (2018-19)

Dual season
• Posted team's best winning percentage in singles (.733) with a 11-4 record, competing anywhere from No. 2 to No. 6.
• Undefeated in Ivy League play, going 5-0 from No. 6 with two incomplete matches.
• Won only two doubles matches, teaming with Konstantin Kirovski to defeat opponent from Colgate and Niagara.
Fall tournaments
• 5-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles.
• Won Pagoda singles bracket at Ivy-Plus Invitational in September.
• Advanced to Round of 64 in main bracket of ITA Northeast Region singles bracket.
• Reached finals of White doubles bracket with Lev Kazakov at Ivy-Plus Invitational.

As a freshman (2017-18)

Dual season
• 2-4 in singles from the bottom two spots in the order.
• 3-6 in doubles, competing exclusively alongside classmate Alafia Ayeni and all but one match coming from the No. 2 position.
• Rallied to win three-set match at No. 6 in 4-2 win over Penn State on Feb. 11.
Fall tournaments
• Swept all four singles matches in straight sets in the Garland bracket at the Ivy Plus Invitational.
• Was 5-2 in doubles, reaching the Round of 16 at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships while teaming with Daniel Grunberger.
• Competing with Joseph McAllister in doubles, finished in third place in the Wilder bracket at the Ivy Plus Invitational.

Prior to Cornell

• Tabbed as five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network, ranking 26th nationally, seventh in the Southeast and fifth in Florida.
• Won doubles title at 2017 USTA National Men's Open Clay Court Championships.
• Full-time student and graduate of Florida Virtual School, earned first-team all-county honors in 2017 while helping Stoneman Douglas HS win the state championship.
• Member of the National Society for High School Scholars.

Personal

• Evan Carter Bynoe is the son of Leon Bynoe and Tamora Carter Bynoe, and he has one sister.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
