Sophomore Season — 2016-17
Lin won his only dual match of the season, sailing to a 6-1, 6-1 victory from the No. 6 singles position on Feb. 26 in match against Colgate. ... In fall tournaments, Lin was 6-2 in singles and 0-2 in doubles. He won his first five singles matches, including a four-match sweep at the Penn Invitational. He was 2-2 the following weekend to take sixth place in his bracket.

Freshman Season — 2015-16
Lin competed in three singles matches during the dual season, losing two to opponents from Iowa and Rice before the final one was not played to completion. ... In fall tournaments, Lin was 5-2 in singles and 2-2 in doubles. He advanced through singles qualifying at the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championships, then won his first-round round match in three sets against an opponent from Fairfield.

Prior to Cornell
As a sophomore at Highland Park HS, Lin went undefeated in 2013 and captured the Greater Middlesex Conference title and the NJSIAA state championship. After concentrating on International Tennis Federation matches in 2014, he returned to the high school tennis scene in 2015 to reach the state quarterfinals in singles and second-team all-state honors. Highland Park HS won the Central, Group 1 title in all three years Lin competed with the team.

Personal
Maverick Lin is the son of James Lin and Brenda Yang, and he has one brother. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
