Biography

As a senior (2019-20)

Dual season
• Led the team in singles victories with an 8-1 record, including a 7-1 mark at No. 5 singles.
• Won seven straight singles matches to close the season.
• Was 4-4 in doubles play alongside Evan Bynoe.
Fall tournaments
• 5-2 during fall tournaments, playing at the Dartmouth Invitational and the ITA Northeast Regional.
• Advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA regional, winning matches in the rounds of 128, 64, 32 and 16.


As a junior (2018-19)

Dual season
• 5-2 in singles playing at Nos. 4, 5 and 6.
• Was 0-1 in long doubles appearance playing with Eero Vasa.
Fall tournaments
• 2-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles at the Ivy Plus Invitational.
• Went 4-1 in singles at the ITA Northeast Regional where he fell in the the round of 16 and was 1-1 in doubles playing with Jake Hansen.
 

As a sophomore (2017-18)

Dual season
• 5-7 in singles from the Nos. 4 and 5 positions.
• Seven of 12 singles matches to reach completion went to three sets, including victories against opponents from Penn, Buffalo and Oklahoma.
Fall tournaments
• 3-3 in singles with two victories in the Nassau Bracket at the Ivy Plus Invitational and another one to reach the Round of 32 at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships.
• 1-1 in doubles while competing with Daniel Grunberger in the Jadwin Bracket of the Ivy Plus Invitational.
 

As a freshman (2016-17)

• Finished second on the team in singles victories with 15 against just three losses in dual matches.
• A key cog in a vaunted lower half of the singles lineup that was a cumulative 48-12 in the spring.
• Appeared most often at the No. 5 position and was a perfect 3-0 when being bumped above that position.
• 5-0 in matches that went to a third set (plus a victory in only super tiebreaker), including dramatic victories against Oklahoma, Drake and Yale — the last coming in a tiebreaker to clinch the match.
• 2-3 in doubles.
• 8-3 in singles and 2-3 in doubles during fall tournament play.
• Advanced through qualifying and all the way into the Round of 32 in the singles bracket at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships.
 

Prior to Cornell

Rimondini joins the Big Red as a Tennis Recruiting Network five-star recruit, having been nationally ranked as high as 17th in 2014 and 2015. He earned main draw wildcards in USA Futures events in Florida earlier in 2016.
