As a senior (2020)

• Did not make any appearances before the season ended after just nine games.???????

As a junior (2019)

• Emerged as key part of the weekend rotation, finishing the season with a 2-3 record, 5.83 ERA and one complete game.
• Six of 12 appearances were starts, including the team's first nine-inning complete game in nearly two years in an April 21 game against Princeton.
• Ranked second on team with 46.1 innings, working into at least the sixth inning in last five starts.
• Recorded 39 strikeouts against just seven walks, leading the Ivy League in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.57) and walks allowed per nine innings (1.36).
• In first weekend start since Feb. 24, threw 7.2 innings of one-hit shutout ball against league-leading Harvard on April 14 with eight strikeouts.

As a sophomore (2018)

• Tied for fourth on team with 15 relief appearances, posting 2-2 record, 6.16 ERA and one save.
• 4.09 ERA ranked 16th among primary relievers with at least 10 innings pitched in Ivy League play.
• Ended season particularly strong, with 6.1 innings over four scoreless outings without any walks and just one hit.
• Recorded 26 strikeouts over 30.2 innings.
• Struck out seven in season-high 4.2-inning outing March 3 at Duke.

As a freshman (2017)

• Was tied for second-most appearances by team's pitchers, posting a 1-2 record with a 4.76 ERA over 13 games.
• Led team with 22.2 innings of relief, including a pair of saves.
• Held opposition to .195 average with runners on base.
• Recorded final four outs of team's season-opening 5-2 win at Navy for first collegiate save.

Prior to Cornell

• A two-sport star at St. Christopher's School, pitching and manning the corner infield for the baseball team and serving as quarterback and punter on the football team.
• Helped the baseball team capture a state title during freshman season
• Earned one all-state honor and three all-prep honors.
• 2016 Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason All-Atlantic Region honorable mention,
• Received Perfect Game USA Preseason HS Underclassmen All-American honorable mention in 2015.
• Four-time high honor roll student, four-time member of student council and a National AP Scholar.
• Was twice placed on all-state team in football.

Personal

• FitzGerald Bemiss is the son of Samuel M. Bemiss and Elizabeth Cole Bemiss, and he has an older sister and two younger brothers.
• Has cousins that play baseball at Virginia and Haverford.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
