Freshman (2011): Okey did not play during her freshman season after suffering a preseason injury. 

Prior to Cornell
Okey was a four-time letter winner at River Hill HS, where she was a three-time first-team all-county selection and a second-team all-county selection in 2007. She helped her team to the Maryland state finals in 2009 and to the state semifinals in 2007 and 2008. Okey was named team captain as a senior, the year she was also named all-met and was the Baltimore Sun Athlete of the Week in October. She played her club volleyball with the Maryland Juniors, where she served as team captain from 2007-2011. She helped MJVC to a third place finish at regionals in 2011.

Personal
Sarah Katelyn Okey is the daughter of Jay Okey and Sharon Stampfl and has an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
