Shalaway saw action in four games during the season, averaging 3.0 minutes per outing. She registered a career-high three points in front of her hometown fans at No. 19 West Virginia. She also scored two points and grabbed her only rebound of the season at Penn on March 7. Shalaway also saw action vs. Bowling Green and No. 1 Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

At Mount de Chantal Academy and Cameron High School
A four-time varsity letter winner at Mount de Chantal Academy, Shalaway started all four years and was named co-captain during her senior season. She concluded her career with 1,174 points while leading her team to an overall recored of 71-24. She averaged 12.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game during her high school career. Shalaway broke the single season record for 3-pointers made at both Mount de Chantal and Cameron High school, connecting on 50 as a junior at Mount and hitting 57 during her sophomore season at Cameron. A two-time first-team All-Ohio Valley Selection and member of the Ohio Valley All-Star Team, Shalaway was also a three-time All-Ohio Valley Academic Team selection. She was a second-team All-State choice as a sophomore and was twice named first-team Mason-Dixon.

Personal
Emma Lena Shalaway is the daughter of Scott and Linda Shalaway and she has an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
