Biography

An exceptional athlete and an intense competitor, Snyder made an immediate impact on the Big Red. She became a starter in just her seventh game with Cornell and went on to become an honorable mention All-Ivy selection. Snyder is a solid ball-handler with a high basketball IQ. She sees the floor extremely well and has an innate ability to get her open teammates the ball.

At Cornell
Snyder saw action in all 27 games, starting the final 21 games of the season. She was named an honorable mention All-Ivy selection after ranking second on the team with 9.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Snyder finished the year ranked second in the Ivy League with 1.3 blocked shots per game and seventh overall with 2.7 offensive rebounds per game. Her .513 shooting percentage (101-for-197) ties her for second all-time, while her 36 blocked shots ties her for fourth overall in Cornell history. She led the Big Red in scoring seven times and grabbed a team-high in rebounds on nine occasions. She scored in double figures 12 times, including a season-high 21 points vs. NJIT and a 20-point performance vs. Brown on Feb. 9. Snyder registered four double-doubles on the season and had six games in which she tallied at least three blocked shots.

At Umpqua Community College
Snyder spent two seasons at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore., where she averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds per game. She and was named to the All-NWACC Southern Region first-team and the MVP of the 2004 Clackamas Tournament and the 2004 Peninsula Tournament. At the 2005 NWACC Championship Tournament, Snyder tied the tournament record by scoring 39 points against Spokane, helping her to earn NWACC Tournament first-team honors. She was also a member of the French Junior National Team in 2001.

Moïna Tahnee Snyder is the daughter of Tom and Kathy Snyder and is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Arts and Sciences. She has a younger sister, Tani.
