Biography
As a junior (2017-18)
• The breakout player of the 2017-18 season.
• Saw action in 26 games, earning the start in the final 21 games of the season.
• Earned her first career start vs. Lafayette.
• Ranked second on the team and 23rd in the Ivy League with 8.3 points per game.
• Registered double-digits 10 times.
• Had one 20-point game, scoring a career-high 23 points at Penn.
• Lead Cornell in scoring five times and in rebounding twice during the season.
• Set personal-bests in points (23 at Penn), rebounds (8 vs. Binghamton), assists (4 vs. Brown), steals (3 at Princeton), blocks (1 at Princeton), 3-points field goals made (5 at Penn) and minutes (37 at Columbia) during the season.
As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Saw action in seven games during her sophomore season, including four Ivy League contests.
• Scored two points vs. Dartmouth on Feb. 17.
• Finished the season with three rebounds and one steal.
• Averaged 1.9 minutes per game.
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Played in 15 games during her rookie season, getting her first collegiate minutes at Bryant.
• Scored her first collegiate points at Marshall and had a career-high six points vs. Towson.
• Averaged 4.1 minutes, 1.1 points and 0.7 rebounds per contest
Prior to Cornell
• Earned a combined four letters at Canyon High School and Fairmont Preparatory Academy.
• In her senior season, she broke the Fairmont Prep record for made 3-pointers in a career and scored more than 1,500 points in just three seasons.
• A two-time team captain, she led the squad to a CIF Championship in 2015 after a CIF Finalists Southern Section finish in 2014.
• Was a two-time first-team All-CIF Southern Section selection, after earning second-team honors as a sophomore.
• As a senior, Clement was earned her second consecutive first-team All-San Joaquin League, was a first-team all-tournament selection for the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions, and was selected to play in the Orange County All-Star Game.
• As a junior, she was the MVP of the San Joaquin League and earned her second consecutive Husky Invitational MVP selection.
• A two-year member of the England U16 National Team, Clement played in the 2012 European Championships in Hungary, as well as the 2013 European Championships in Porto, Portugal.
• At the 2013 Championship, she was named the FIBA Player of the Game for England’s contest vs. Belarus.
• Clement also played for the OC Elite National Team that participated in the Adidas National Tournament.
Personal
• Samantha Gwyn Clement is the daughter of Gregory Clement and Stephanie Weissman and she has one younger sister.
• Enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
