Biography
Truong, a walk-on, added good depth to the team’s point guard position during her first season with the Big Red. She will continue to look to provide depth as she brings good ball-handling skills, speed and aggressiveness on the defensive end of the court.
At Cornell
Truong saw action in 13 games during her rookie season, averaging 3.1 minutes per game. For the year, she scored seven points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out four assists. Truong played a season-high 10 minutes at Colgate and scored a career-high two points on three occasions. She saw her first collegiate action vs. No. 19 West Virginia and played in four Ivy League games during the year. Truong finished the season by playing two minutes and grabbing one rebound vs. No. 1 Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
At Northwood HS
A four-year letter winner at Northwood high school, Troung was named All-City honorable mention during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She also earned a Pacific Coast League honorable mention selection as a junior and was named her team’s defensive MVP during her final two seasons.
Personal
Sasha Anh-Thu Truong is the daughter of Alex and Cecile Truong and she has a younger brother. Her father attended Cornell from 1979-1981. She is enrolled in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.
