Diane Dillon `83, one of the most talented women to ever put on a Cornell hockey uniform, returns for her fifth season as an assistant coach for the Big Red program.

Dillon has responsibilities in all aspects of the Big Red program, from coordinating the Cornell recruiting and scouting program to practice planning and player development. She is also responsible for home game operations, alumni development and affairs, and monitoring academic performance of the student athletes. Dillon also spearheads community service projects for the Big Red and is the Director of the Cornell summer hockey school camps. She has also worked numerous hockey programs and youth camps including the USA Hockey Southeast District Development camp, Phillips Exeter Hockey school, Digit Murphy[apos]s Elite Hockey School at Brown University, Moe Tarrant[apos]s Cutting Edge Girls Hockey Camp and more.

Before joining the Cornell Big Red coaching staff, Dillon coached youth hockey in Cincinnati, Ohio, with the Cincinnati Cyclones program and in Berkeley, Calif., with the Berkeley Bulldogs organization. She has also played and coached in the NCWHL, an adult league in Northern California. Dillon was employed with Federated Department Stores in several different capacities prior to returning to Cornell to coach. She held several different positions within the Macy[apos]s organization before being asked to join the Federated Corporate offices in Cincinnati. She was involved in store design, merchandise buying, the advertising department, the merchandise statistics accounting department, and in the executive development-training department. She spent two months in Hong Kong training Federated executives from countries all over the world. In her last role with Federated, Dillon helped develop executive buying training programs and curriculums for all of Federated[apos]s numerous retail chains around the country.

Dillon ranks seventh all-time in Big Red history in goals scored (65), fifth in assists (79), and sixth in total points (144). An MVP her freshman year and a team captain for her junior and senior years, Dillon was a member of two Ivy League championship squads and was named second-team All-Ivy her freshman and junior years. Dillon graduated from Cornell in 1983 with a degree in Interior and Product Design from the College of Human Ecology. She was the President of Human Ecology[apos]s academic honorary society, Omicron Nu her senior year, allowing her the privilege of leading her college into Cornell commencement. Dillon was also a member of the Red Key Athletic Honorary Society.
