Erin Magee

  • Title
    Asst. Coach
Erin Magee begins her first season as an assistant coach, bringing extensive international playing experience to the sidelines of Lynah Rink. Magee was Melody Davidson's first new hire upon becoming head coach this past August.

A high-level athlete on the national and international circuit, Magee's recent playing experience will help her relate closely to the young team. Among her responsibilities will be practice and travel planning, scouting and recruiting.

A member of the United States women's national team since 1999, Magee spent last season playing for Switzerland's national "A" team, ending the campaign as the league's leading scorer. She led her team to the national championship in 2002 and earned the tournament most valuable player award.

One of the all-time greats at Boston College, Magee was a two-time captain and graduated as the program's all-time leader in both points and assists in 1999. She was an All-ECAC honorable mention pick as a junior, and was the third-leading scorer in the NCAA as a sophomore. Magee joined an ECAC all-star team that played an exhibition game against the 1998 U.S. Olympic team. A 1997 U.S. national team invitee, she competed in the national Olympic Festival in 1996 and 1998.

Magee has also earned her stripes as a camp clinician, working with the Professional Goalie School in Kloten, Switzerland, and as director of the girls' and women's Ice Hockey Academy, a partner of Top Game Sports Psychology, Inc. She was an assistant strength and conditioning trainer at the Cutting Edge Sports Sciences clinics from 1996-2001, demonstrating and instructing speed training techniques.

Magee graduated from Boston College with a degree in human development and sociology in 1999.
