She has over thirty years of experience coaching and working with youth and elite athletes. Prior to her arrival on East Hill, she worked with major-junior, college and NHL players at Pro Skaters Inc. Derraugh was responsible for coaching off-ice speed/agility, plyometrics, and daily movement assessments.Â
As an athlete, she competed on the Canadian National Track and Field team at the junior and senior levels. While attending the University of Arizona she was an NCAA Division I All-American. She set a Pac 10 record in the javelin throw, while also attaining the qualifying ‘A’ standard for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.Â
Louise is passionate about applying her understanding and real-life experience of track and field foundations in her off-ice coaching sessions with the hockey players she works with.
