Biography
At Cornell
Freshman (2007-08): Moore appeared in all 30 games for the Big Red as a defenseman, notching two goals and two assists in her first collegiate season. Moore’s first career goal was the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over Ivy League foe Princeton on Dec. 1. Moore recorded a career high nine shots and had an assist in Cornell’s 3-2 victory at Union on Feb. 15. She was penalized 24 times for 48 minutes.
Prior to Cornell
Moore served as captain for the San Jose Jr. Sharks under-19 team in 2006. She was selected for the Pacific District honor team and was the assistant captain of the Pacific Steelers Black Team. Moore helped lead her team to third place at the Propects Tournament in Toronto, Canada and was the runner-up at the 2006 Pacific District championship. At the Martin Luther King Tournament in San Jose, Moore was a two-time winner of the fastest skater competition. She was also a member of track and field at Fremont HS competing in the shot put and also played roller hockey. A member of the National Honor Society, Moore served as her student body associate president as a senior. She is a lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federation and is a member of Key Club. Moore also led and participated in a number of community service activities.
Personal
Amber Ippolito Moore is the daughter of Christopher Moore and Christina and Robert Wilson. She has one brother and three younger sisters. Moore is a student in the College of Arts and Sciences.
