PRIOR TO CORNELL
Ota joined the Big Red after graduating from Boston University in 2025. During her time at BU, she gained valuable experience working primarily with the men’s ice hockey program while also supporting several other teams, including basketball, lacrosse, and softball.
While at Boston University, the Terriers were consistently a nationally ranked program, advancing to the Frozen Four three times and winning the Friendship Four Tournament in Belfast. Ota also gained experience working with world-class and professional-level talent, including NHL players Macklin Celebrini, Lane Hutson, and Cole Hutson, among others.
In addition, she worked as a student video production assistant, helping produce Patriot League broadcasts.
AT CORNELL
Ota began working with Cornell women’s ice hockey in September 2025. She is responsible for managing team equipment operations, including budgeting, coordinating repairs, manual skate sharpening, and ensuring the needs of student-athletes are met.
