Prior to Cornell University
Holmes joins the Big Red after playing two seasons at the University of New Hampshire. Last season, UNH advanced to the semifinals at the Frozen Four and was ranked No. 2 in the nation. The Wildcats also advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2007. Holmes totaled 32 points in two seasons, including 15 goals and 17 assists. She was a two-time Hockey East all-academic team member. Prior to playing at New Hampshire, she totaled 213 career points at Berkshire and helped her team to a New England title in 2006.

Personal
Stephanie Carolyn Holmes is the daughter of Michael and Patricia Homes, and has two brothers and a sister.Her father, Michael, played hockey at Elmira College and played professionally in the AHL and in Europe. Holmes is a student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
