Biography
As a Senior (2014)
D’Amico, one of three Big Red captains, started all 16 games on attack. She had at least one point in 13 games and finished the season with 19 goals and seven assists for 26 points. She also picked up 20 ground balls, 13 draw controls and caused five turnovers. She finished second on the team for ground balls (20) and free-position goals (7).
As a Junior (2013)
D’Amico was a vital player for Cornell all season on offense, and her 29 goals put her third on the team in that category. She scored five goals against No. 7 Penn State on March 13 to reach a career high and help Cornell knock off a top-10 opponent. She scored a hat trick four times in 2013 and had her best offensive season by 15 points. She also had career highs in ground balls (16) and caused turnovers (six).
As a Sophomore (2012)
D'Amico saw action in every game for Cornell during her sophomore campaign and was the team's sixth-leading scorer with 16 goals and two assists for 18 points. D'Amico started 12 games, took 35 shots and had 14 ground balls. She recorded two hat tricks on the year, once at Harvard in a 12-6 win and once at Jacksonville.
As a Freshman (2011)
D'Amico played in 11 contests off the bench as a freshman, scoring a goal and adding three draws and winning a ground ball. She tallied her first career goal off the bench at Yale, adding a ground ball and a draw control in the victory. D'Amico made her first collegiate appearance off the bench against Rutgers.
Before Cornell
D'Amico was a three-time all-league player at Oswego HS, earning IWLCA All-America and first-team All-Central New York honors as a senior. A two-time team most valuable player who was a senior captain, D'Amico was named Oswego High School's Senior Athlete of the Year. She was invited to compete in the Exceptional Senior All-Star Game after registering a team-high 41 goals, 23 assists, 32 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers during her senior campaign and was named The Palladium-Times Female Athlete of the Year in 2010. D’Amico closed out her Oswego varsity lacrosse career with 150 goals and 64 assists, and was the first Lady Buc to be named a U.S. Lacrosse All-American. A two-sport star, she was a three-time all-league pick and a first-team all-section honoree as team captain in soccer.
Personal
Amanda Marie D'Amico is the daughter of Christopher and Mary D'Amico and has an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
