Katie Woods was named assistant women[apos]s lacrosse coach at Cornell in July of 2003 after serving in a similar position at Davidson College.

A standout dual sport athlete (soccer and lacrosse) at Drew University, Woods returned to the area after serving as a graduate assistant coach for both the women[apos]s lacrosse and soccer teams at Ithaca College during the 2002 season. She helped the Bomber[apos]s lacrosse team to a 14-5 record and an ECAC title, while the soccer team went 12-6 and advanced to the ECAC playoffs.

After her season at IC, Woods accepted a position at Davidson, helping a young team brave through a treacherous schedule that included eight games against ranked teams. She assisted in all aspects of the program including recruiting, fundraising, player development, and team travel.

A 2001 graduate of Drew with a degree in psychology, Woods earned a Master[apos]s of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences at Ithaca College. While at Drew, she was awarded the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women local woman of the year award, the Drew University Female Athlete of the Year, and USLacrosse National All-American. She was a Brine/IWLCA All-American and ECAC-Metro Player of the Year. Woods was also a two-time regional All-American and a four-time Middle Atlantic Conference All-Star in lacrosse. She also was a two-time regional All-American in soccer.

Aside from collegiate coaching, Woods has worked youth and high school lacrosse and soccer camps throughout the Northeast.
