Biography

As a senior (2021-22)

• Did not see varsity action.
 

As a junior (2020-21)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a sophomore (2019-20)

• Did not rejoin the lacrosse team prior to the conclusion of the season.
 

As a freshman (2018-19)

• Appeared in all 36 hockey games for the Big Red during her freshman campaign.
• Progressed as the season went on, becoming one of the team’s top scoring options by the end of the season.
• After only registering three assists in her first 25 games, Frechette registered 10 over the last 11 contests.
• Her first collegiate goal came against Brown on (Feb. 15).
• Sent the Big Red to its first Frozen Four since 2012, with the overtime game-winner against Northeastern in the NCAA quarterfinal (Mar. 16).
• Did not see action on the varsity lacrosse team. 
 

Prior to Cornell

• Four-time letterwinner at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, where she served as a captain her senior year.
• Played Club for the East Coast Wizard.
• Received an invite to the US National Camp every year she was eligible.
• Four-time New England Prep School All-Star and New Hampshire All-State team from 2015-18.
• Named her team’s most valuable player in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and was named the rookie of the year in 2015.
• Helped lead St. Paul’s to the New England Prep School Hockey Title in 2015.
• Was a two-time recipient of the St. Paul’s Girls Ice Hockey Award earning the distinction her junior and senior seasons.
• Four-time letterwinner in both field hockey and lacrosse, each of which she captained her senior her senior year.
• Was a three-time New England Prep School All-Star for field hockey in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and was the team’s most valuable player her junior and senior year.
• Named to the New Hampshire All-Star team in 2016 and 2017.
• In lacrosse, was tabbed a New England Prep School All Star and the team’s most valuable player her junior and senior seasons.
• Graduated cum laude and was on the honor roll all four years.
 

Personal

• Gillis Burnett Frechette is the daughter of Timothy Frechette and Mara Burnett.
• She has one sister, Finley, who is on both Cornell’s women’s hockey and lacrosse teams and has two brothers.
• She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
