Biography
Ivy League All-Tournament Team (2016)
As a Senior (2016)
Mattyasvoszky had a breakout season her senior year, exploding for 33 goals to lead the Big Red in one of the most successful seasons in program history and more than triple her scoring output from her junior year. Mattyasovszky scored in 17 of Cornell's 19 contests and netted multiple goals on 10 occasions, including a career-high five goal outing in a 14-7 win over Columbia on March 12. She helped the Big Red to its first-ever Ivy League Tournament Championship, scoring two goals in both the semifinal against Princeton and the championship game at Penn, earning her All-Tournament Team honors.
As a Junior (2015)
Mattyasovszky had a solid year for the Big Red in 2015. She appeared in 12 contests, notching a career high 10 goals and 11 points during the regular season. She tallied a career high four goals in a five point effort in the victory over Binghamton on 3/11. She tallied another hat-trick in the victory over California on 3/29. She added goals against Columbia (3/14), Brown (3/21), and Dartmouth (4/4).
As a Sophomore (2014)
Mattyasovszky played in six games for the Big Red this season, mostly on attack. She scored one goal in Cornell’s 13-6 victory against Columbia and recorded one caused turnover during the game. She also saw the field against Temple, Harvard, Binghamton, Albany and Rutgers.Â
As a Freshman (2013)
Mattyasovszky played in one game for the Big Red in her freshman year, picking up an assist against Colgate in early March.
Before Cornell
Mattyasovszky enters Cornell with two state championships under her belt, as her teams won the DIII Rhode Island titles in 2009 and 2010. She was the MVP of both championship games those years, was named All-State in 2011 and 2012, and was a six-year captain for her club team, Metacomets Select. Mattyasovszky also played in the U.S. Lacrosse Women's Division National Tournament for the Lower New England squad in 2011. A player with exciting strength and size, Mattyasovszky has a great attitude and will be expected to fight for a spot on attack as well as Cornell’s draw control unit. Apart from lacrosse, Mattyasovszky was a talented athlete on the volleyball and basketball courts. She was a four-year setter and outside hitter at South Kingstown and served as volleyball captain in 2011. She also played two years of basketball as a center and forward.
Personal
Olivia Luise Mattyasovszky is the daughter of Gabor and Beatrix Mattyasovszky. She has an older brother, Miklos, who graduated from Cornell in 2013.
