As a Senior (2019)

• Played in three contests as a backup goalkeeper, making a pair of saves while playing 9:40 between the pipes.
• Had two saves and a pair of goals allowed in four minutes in the victory over Colgate.
• Also earned time vs. Marist and Stony Brook.
 

As a Junior (2018)

• Appeared in six games, earning a start at Binghamton.
• Played a total of 151:53, making 12 saves.
• Made career-high three saves against Penn, Dartmouth and at Binghamton.
• Ended year with .333 save percentage and 9.48 goals against average.
• Picked up five ground balls and caused one turnover against Penn.
 

As a Sophomore (2017)

• Appeared in three contests for the Big Red during sophomore campaign, playing a total of 23:47.
• Made one save in eight minutes of action in the season-opening win at Villanova on Feb. 18 and on April 4, played over 11 minutes and made one save in a win over Binghamton.
 

As a Freshman (2016)

• Appeared in two games for a total of 15:55 as a freshman.
• In a 12-4 win over California, allowed one goal and made one save while making a save and allowing no goals in a 14-5 win at Binghamton.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Nielsen, a First Team All-American, was also named First Team All-State, First Team All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference and First Team MSG Varsity All-Connecticut her senior season and finished high school with a .47 overall save percentage.
• In 2013, she was selected as a member of the Under Armour Underclass New England Team.
• In addition to lacrosse, Nielsen was a forward for the Darien High School hockey team.
• The team won the FCIAC Championship each of Nielsen’s last three years, including her senior season when she was captain and named All-FCIAC First Team.
 

Personal

• Samantha Claire Nielsen is the daughter of Gerald and Judith Nielsen and has an older brother, Christian, and older sister, Sarah.
• She is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
