At Cornell
Cappuccitti is in his second year as a volunteer assistant coach for the men's tennis program at Cornell. Last season, he helped lead the Big Red to an 18-7 overall record and 4-3 mark in the Ivy League, good for 37th nationally in the final ITA rankings. Cornell earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, upsetting No. 23 ranked Auburn (4-3) in the first round for the team’s second tournament win in program history before falling to No. 12 ranked Duke (4-1) in the second round.
Prior to joining the men's tennis team, Cappuccitti was the assistant coach of the Cornell Women's Tennis team from 2021-22. Cappuccitti helped lead the Big Red to an 8-12 overall record and 3-4 mark in the Ivy League. Coached three All-Ivy selections in Lan Mi (first team singles) and doubles tandem Lauren Stein and Jenny Wong (second team).
Prior to Cornell
Cappuccitti previously worked as private high performance coach for Kaylan and Meecah Bigun, with responsibilities including producing development and conditioning plans and scheduling and budgeting tournament schedules.
Cappuccitti also worked for the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Md. as a Senior Coach/Director of Competition (2014-2020). At JTCC, Cappuccitti helped set up players for success, including organization of specific practice plans for individual players and creat a new program designed for high-performance players to receive more individualized training. More than 20 players reached the top 15 in the US in their age group under his guidance.
Cappuccitti also stared as a player for Illinois State (2002-04), playing No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles for the Redbirds.
Cappuccitti earned a degree in economics from Illinois State in 2004.
