Former Ohio State men's tennis captain Ty Schaub was named assistant coach for both the Cornell men's and women's tennis teams in August 2009.
Schaub is a 2009 graduate of Ohio State and served as team captain as a senior. He helped lead his team to a No. 1 national ranking and a spot in the NCAA team finals. Schaub was part of four Big Ten championships and was the league's Sportsmanship Award Winner in 2006-07. The four-year letter winner was part of teams that went 129-8 in dual match competition. Schaub was the Director of Tennis at the City of Beachwood Recreation Department before taking the position at Cornell, and had also worked as an assistant pro at the Tartan Field Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio and the Premier Sports Camps in Wooster, Ohio. Schaub played one season with Geatz serving as associate head coach with the Buckeyes (2007-08).
Schaub will also be the Assistant Director of the Reis Tennis Center in addition to his duties as assistant coach.
