Biography

Senior Season — 2012-13
Kohagen was 5-3 in singles and 3-2 in doubles, all in non-scoring matches in the fall and early winter. Three of her singles victories came against competitors from Buffalo — Alexandra Diamandi, Anamarie Candanoza and Shir Aharon — at the Cornell Fall Invitational. She teamed with freshman Christy Kung to advance to the 'B' doubles final at the same event.

Junior Season — 2011-12
Kohagen was 5-2 in singles and 4-1 in doubles, finishing third in the C Bracket of the Cornell Fall Invitational and second in the C Bracket of the Cornell Winter Invitational. She teamed with Courtney Malinchak for all of her doubles matches, twice defeating Carolina Zanotta and Megan Guidry en route to the B Bracket consolation title at the Cornell Fall Invitational.

Sophomore Season — 2010-11
Kohagen played in just one tournament during her sophomore season, posting an 0-1 record with a loss to Buffalo’s Miranda Podlas in the semifinals of the Cornell Fall Invitational. She picked up a victory in her lone doubles appearance, also coming against Buffalo at the Cornell Fall Invitational.

Freshman Season — 2009-10
Kohagen missed the first half of her rookie season, but went 2-4 down the stretch. She saw limited time in doubles play but was very successful, posting a record of 4-1 at the No. 3 spot.

At Cary Academy
Kohagen lettered five times and was a three-year captain at Cary Academy. She went undefeated all five years in conference play and was a five-time conference Player of the Year selection. She was also named all-conference and all-state all five years. Kohagen was part of the UTSA Tennis team and finished ranked first for two years in NC Girl’s 18’s as well as #61 in 2008 for the Southern Section.

Kirsten Ellen Kohagen is the daughter of Kenneth and Kimberly Kohagen and she has one younger brother. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
