Biography
Freshman Season — 2016-17
Perez de la Llave won her collegiate debut on March 5, topping an opponent from Niagara in straight sets from the No. 6 singles position. Her only appearance at doubles also came against the Purple Eagles, but that match went unfinished. Perez competed one other time in singles on March 22 in a match against Colgate.
Prior to Cornell
Perez de la Llave competed with Club de Tenis Chamartín in the Madrid League during the 2015-16 season, where she helped her teams finish first in Division 2 and Division 4. She also competed on the Division 1 team that came in third. Perez de la Llave was also a Junior and Senior Sports Champion at Saint Anne's School and had Spain's highest math score on the International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
Personal
Maria Perez de la Llave is the daughter of Luis Alberto Perez and Paula de la Llave. She is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
