Biography

As a junior (2016)
• Wemhoff saw action in 23 matches as a junior.
• Ranked fourth on the team with 2.38 kills per set.
• Posted a .168 hitting percentage on the season.
• Registered double-digit kills eight times, including a season-high 15 at Binghamton.
• Finished the year with 58 digs, 19 blocks, and three assists.
 
As a sophomore (2015)
• Wemhoff had an outstanding sophomore season, playing in 21 matches with 12 starts.
• Ranked second on the team with 2.38 kills per set, while hitting .161 percent. 
• Registered double-digit kills six times, including a season-high 15 kills against both William and Mary, and George Mason.
• Had at least 10 digs three times on the year, finishing with double-doubles vs. the Tribe and Central Connecticut State.
• Finished the season with 16 total blocks and five service aces.
 
As a freshman (2014) 
• Wemhoff had a breakout rookie season, leading the team and ranking ninth in the Ivy League in kills per set (2.86).
• Started all 24 matches and played in all 87 sets for the Big Red, finishing the season with a team-high 3.26 points per set.
• A versatile full-rotation player, she ranked second on the team with 2.48 digs per set and contributed 30 blocks on the year.
• Registered double-digit kills in 12 matches, with a career-high 20 in a 3-1 victory over Albany.
• Posted a career-high .372 hitting percentage (20-4-43) vs. the Great Danes.
• Registered at least 10 digs in seven matches, six of which came during Ivy League play, including a career-high 20 digs vs. Yale on Nov. 8.
• Posted three double-doubles on the year, finishing with at least 10 kills and 10 digs vs. Albany, at Penn, and vs. Columbia.  

Prior to Cornell
• Wemhoff earned four varsity letters at St. Teresa’s Academy, where she finished her career with the second most career kills in program history.
• As a senior, she posted 270 kills, registered a .436 attack percentage, and tallied over 125 digs.
• Was a three-time first-team all-district and helped her team to three consecutive district championships.
• Named both second-team all-region and second-team all-state in 2013.
• Was selected to serve as team captain as junior and senior and was voted her team’s MVP in each of those seasons.
• Chosen to be on the MOKAN Senior All-Star Team and was named a MOKAN Invitational all-tournament team selection in 2012 and 2013.
• Was also named a four-time academic all-state selection.
• A member of the KC Power Volleyball Club, she was named to the AVCA Phenom list in 2012 and 2013.

Personal
• Emily Marie Wemhoff is the daughter of Doug and Dee Wemhoff and she has two brothers and one sister.
• Her father Doug played basketball at Rockhurst University from 1985-89 and is a member of the Rockhurst Athletic Hall of Fame.
• Her sister Nicole played volleyball for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 
• Wemhoff is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
