At Cornell
Freshman (2007): Karmann played in 32 games during her freshman campaign, and was named the team’s most improved player. She totaled 17 kills, and registered a season-high four in matches against Penn and Columbia. Karmann notched five digs in the Big Red’s match at Harvard on Nov. 10. With eight total blocks, she recorded a block solo and two block assists in Cornell’s match against Harvard on Oct. 12.

At George Whittell HS
A four-time letter winner, Karmann helped her team to four Nevada high school state championships. Co-captain her senior year, she was the 2005 Northern Nevada League and Nevada State Co-MVP. She was a three-time first-team all-league member and was twice named first-team all-state. With the Capital City Volleyball Club, she was part of the 2005 Pac-West Tournament championship team and finished eighth at the Volleyball Festival. Karmann was also a three-time letter winner in basketball. A 2006 all-league honorable mention, she helped her team to a northern Nevada zone championship. A four-time letter winner in track, she competed in the shot put, discus and high jump. Her team won three Nevada state women's championships. Karmann finished first in the state in the discus and high jump in 2006, and was the state champion in the shot put in 2007. She was president of her National Honor Society and was a five-time member of the Nevada state all-academic team. A member of the Key Club, Karmann volunteered for the Special Olympics, Angel Tree, Tsunami Relief, and UNICEF. She was also a member of Whittell's Black and White Choir.

Personal
Kelly Elaine Karmann is the daughter of Elaine Hogstedt and has an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
