At Cornell
Junior (2012): Marble served as one of the team’s tri-captains for the 2012 campaign. She started all 25 matches for the Big Red and finished the year ranking first on the team and fifth in the Ivy League in kills per set (3.03). She was also first in the conference and 54th in the nation in service aces per set (0.36). Marble led the team and was fourth in the Ivy League in points per set (3.58). She was named the “Best Server” award winner at the Temple Invitational, totaling seven service aces vs. Central Connecticut and Temple. She reached double-digit kills 19 times, including 11 consecutive matches to end the season. She posted a season-high 20 kills at Brown on Sept. 29 and vs. Columbia on Oct. 20. Marble also ranked second on the team with 243 digs (2.51 per set) and reached double figures in 13 matches, including a season-high 20 digs vs. NJIT. Marble also posted 36 total blocks (one solo) on the season.
Sophomore (2011): Marble was named the team's Most Improved Player for the 2011 season after seeing action in all 26 matches. She ranked first on the team in kills per game (2.52) and was second overall in kill percentage (.167) among players on the team with at least 200 attempts. Marble also led the team in service aces (0.26) and was solid defensively with 1.61 digs and 0.32 blocks per game. Marble registered double-digit kills in 12 matches, including a career-high 19 in a 3-2 victory over Harvard on Nov. 5.
Freshman (2010): Marble saw action in 13 matches, playing in 22 sets during her rookie season. She saw more action as the season wore on, with seven of her 13 matches being played against Ivy League opponents. She finished the year with 25 kills (1.14 per set) and 24 digs (1.09 per set). Marble also registered three assists, three blocks and one service ace on the season.
Prior to Cornell
Marble lettered three times at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, serving as team captain as both a junior and senior. She was named the 2010 Class 6A-5A-4A Volleyball Player of the Year by both the
Sun Sentinel and the
Miami Herald and was named the La Ley Sports Outstanding Female Senior for Fall Sports by Broward County. Marble also earned the Florida Region Ned DeGroot Memorial Scholarship award from USA Volleyball. She was a two-time
Miami Herald first-team all-county selection, as well as a 2009 Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star. Marble was the 2009 Broward County Athletic Association All-Star MVP and an
Orlando Sentinel second-team all-state selection. She led her team to the Florida High School Regional finals in 2009 after a pair of championship semifinal appearances in 2007 and 2008. Marble also lettered twice in basketball. A two-time junior Olympics participant, Marble also played her club volleyball for Boomers Volleyball Club and is a member of the USAV High Performance Program.
Personal
Kelly Nicole Marble is the daughter of Marianne Knight-Marble and Stephen Marble and she has two younger sisters. Her father Stephen swam for Florida State University from 1982-83. Marble is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
