Honorable Mention All-Ivy (2016, 2017)

Career
McCarty was a two-time honorable mention All-Ivy selection, becoming Cornell's first two-time honoree since Natasha Rowland (2013, 2014). The rightside hitter finished her senior year ranked third on the team in both kills per set (2.67) and hitting percentage (.252). McCarty posted double-digit kills in 12-of-23 matches, including half of Cornell's Ivy League contests, and registered a career-high 20 kills against LaSalle to help the team down the Explorers, 3-2. She finished her career ranked 11th in Cornell history for career kills (789); 14th in career points (882.5); 19th in career block assists (167).

As a junior (2016)
• McCarty was the team’s most improved player as a junior, seeing action in all 24 matches.
• Ranked second on the team and ninth in the Ivy League with a .267 hitting percentage.
• Finished the season ranked second on the team and just outside the top 10 of the Ivy League with 2.62 kills per set.
• Reached double-digit kills 11 times, including eight Ivy League contests.
• Had her best performance with a season-high 18 kills and a .483 hitting percentage (18-4-29) vs. Yale on Oct. 1.
• Finished the season with 56 digs and six assists.

As a sophomore (2015)
• McCarty had a solid sophomore season, playing in all 24 matches and making 12 starts.
• Ranked fourth on the team with 1.88 kills per set and was fourth on the team with a .166 hitting percentage.
• Registered double-digit kills five times, including a season-high 16 kills at Penn on Oct. 9.
• Ranked third on the team with 0.61 blocks per set, registering at least on block in all but three matches.

As a freshman (2014)
• McCarty saw action in all 87 sets during her rookie season, playing in 24 matches and earning six starts.
• Finished the year ranked fourth on the team with 1.84 kills per set and was fifth overall with 0.38 blocks per set.
• Posted 33 digs on the year.
• Reached double-digit kills four times on the season, including a season-high 15 kills in a victory over Siena.
• Added a season-high six blocks against the Saints.
• Reached double-digit kills in two Ivy League contests with 13 kills vs. Brown on Nov. 7 and 11 kills at Penn on Oct. 4. 

At Walsh Jesuit High School
• McCarty lettered three times at Walsh Jesuit high school, helping her team to the state final four in her sophomore season.
• Played in the NorthEast district all-star game as a senior and was an honorable mention North Coast League selection, as well as an honorable mention District 3 selection.
• Played for the Maverick Volleyball Club.

Personal
• Katherine Fay McCarty is the daughter of Rich and Maureen McCarty and she has four brothers and three sisters.
• Her father Rich ran track at Walsh College, while her brother Michael and sister Hope were also collegiate track and field athletes.
• Michael is a member of the US national bobsled team.
• McCarty is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
