As a senior (2019)
• Named second team All-Ivy.
• Started all 23 contests as the Big Red’s libero during senior campaign.
• Became the ninth player in Cornell history to join the 1,000-career digs club.
• Only one of two Big Red volleyball student-athletes to amass over 1,000-career digs and 300-career assists in her career.
• Averaged 4.06 digs per set in 2019, a mark which led Cornell, ranked third in the Ivy League, and sits 13th in program history for a single season.
• Her 349 digs this season led the team and ranks 18th all-time in program history.
• Posted double-digit digs in 21 of Cornell’s 23 contests, including every Ivy League match.
• Recorded a season-high 24 digs against Princeton on Nov. 1.
• Also notched 11 assists against the Tigers for one of her two dig-assist double-doubles on the season; the other came against Penn on Oct. 4.
• Was Cornell’s top serving threat, leading the Big Red in aces (31) and averaging 0.36 per set, a mark which ranked second in the Ivy League.
• Posted a 0.948 receiving percentage, committing only 23 errors on 443 attempts.
• Ranked third on the team in assists (123), averaging 1.43 assists per set.
• Closes out her Cornell career ranked fourth all-time in school history in digs per set (3.46) and sixth in career digs (1,124).
As a junior (2018)
• Named honorable mention All-Ivy.
• The Big Red's starting libero in all 24 matches.
• Finished the year ranked fourth in the Ivy League and 130th in the nation with 4.40 digs per set.
• Posted double-digit digs in 22-of-24 matches, including 13 Ivy League contests.
• Reached 20 digs nine times with a season-high 27 vs. Wright State, a mark good for eighth overall in the conference for digs in a single match during the season.
• Amassed 116 assists, the most by any non-setter in the Ivy League during the season.
As a sophomore (2017)
• Saw action in all 23 matches, making 10 starts as the team’s primary defensive specialist.
• Averaged 2.15 digs per set.
• Posted double-digit digs six times, including a season-high 18 in victories over Harvard (10/28) and Brown (11/11).
• Ranked second on the team in service reception (.955) with just 17 errors on 375 targets.
As a freshman (2016)
• Barber was one of the team’s most productive rookies in 2016, playing in 18 matches at either libero or defensive specialist.
• Ranked second on the team with 2.97 digs per set.
• She reached double-digit dings in 12 matches, including a season-high 22 vs. Marist.
• Finished the season with 51 assists and finished the year with 10 service aces.
Prior to Cornell
• Barber earned four varsity letters at Redwood High School, serving as team captain as a senior.
• Was a three-time Marin County Athletic League selection, earning first-team honors in 2015.
• Following the 2013 season, she was named her team’s Rookie of the Year, before going on to be the squad’s two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
• On Nov. 9, 2015 she was selected as the the Marin Independent Journal Prep of the Week after helping the Giants claim the MCAL title with 38 digs.
• As an eight-year member of Absolute Volleyball Club, Barber helped the team to qualify to the 2014 and 2015 USA Volleyball Junior Nationals, winning the bronze medal in the USA Division in 2014 and placing 17th in the Open Division in 2015.
Personal
• Lillian May Barber is the daughter of Greg Barber and Audrey Foster-Barber and she has two older brothers.
• Her mother attended Harvard and her father played soccer at Bishop’s University.
• Barber is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
