As a senior (2019)
• Saw action in 11 matches as a senior, making four starts.
• Averaged 1.97 points and 1.76 kills per set, totaling 60 kills for the year.
• Posted double-digit kills twice on the season, notching a season-best 13 kills and hitting .281 against Saint Mary’s on Sept. 13.
• Matched a career-high 20 digs against Hartford on Sept. 7, adding 12 kills to secure a double-double.
• Finished the season with 65 digs, 8.0 blocks, and three service aces.
• Averaged 1.91 digs per set.
As a junior (2018)
• Named second team All-Ivy.
• Played in 19 matches during the year, including 10 Ivy League contests.
• Finished the season ranked second on the team and 11th in the conference with 2.80 kills per set.
• Amassed double-digit kills in six of Cornell’s final seven Ivy League games, including a career-high 20 in a win over Columbia on Oct. 20.
• Named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Oct. 29 after helping the Big Red earn season sweeps over Dartmouth and Harvard for the first time since 2012 and 2011, respectively.
• Ranked second on the team and18th in the Ivy League in digs per set (2.44).
• Registered double-digit digs in five matches, including a season-high 20 vs. Buffalo in the team’s season-opener.
As a sophomore (2017)
• Saw action in 22 matches with 20 starts as a sophomore.
• Led the team and ranked eighth in the Ivy League with 2.82 kills per set.
• Ranked second on the team and ninth in the conference with 2.97 digs per set.
• Finished third on the team and 18th in the Ivy League with 0.22 service aces per set.
• Posted double-digit kills in 11 matches, including a season-high 20 in a win over Penn.
• Finished with double-digits digs 11 times, including a season-high 21 vs. Valparaiso.
• Had six double-doubles on the season with a 20-kill, 20-dig performance vs. Penn.
As a freshman (2016)
• Arenas saw action in 14 matches during her rookie season, including 10 Ivy League contests.
• Averaged 1.21 kills and 1.55 digs per set over 29 sets.
• Was solid on the backline, receiving 115 serves with just two errors for a .983 service reception percentage.
• Finished the season with five service aces and four block assists.
• Posted her best game of the season at Princeton, finishing with 12 kills and 12 digs for her first career double-double.
Prior to Cornell
• Arenas earned four varsity letters at West Broward High School and was a two-time captain.
• Helped her team to the regional finals in each of her final three seasons and was given the 2014 AVCA Player of the Year Award.
• As a senior, she was named to the Broward County All-Star Team, as well as the Broward County All-Star Team MVP.
• Was a two-time Sun Sentinel first-team all-county selection, after a second-team selection as a sophomore.
• Was also a two-time Miami Herald first-team all-county selection in 2014 and 2015.
• Won her team’s MVP award in each of her final three season, after taking home the Coach’s Award as a freshman.
• As a member of the Ocean Breeze Volleyball Club, Arenas served as captain of the 18 Quicksilver team in 2014 and 2015.
Personal
• Samanta Arenas is the daughter of Victor and Diana Arenas and she has one older sister.
• She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
